City to install speed humps in Lotus River, Parkwood, Pelican Park and Schaapkraal
27 May 2022
The City of Cape Town would like to advise residents that the Road Infrastructure Management Department will be commencing with the installation of speed humps in various roads in Lotus River, Parkwood, Pelican Park and Schaapkraal on Monday, 30 May 2022. The work forms part of an initiative to increase road user safety in these suburbs.
The installation of speed humps is anticipated to be completed by 30 June 2022, pending unforeseen delays and weather permitting. Work will take place between 07:30 and 17:00 from Mondays to Fridays.
We ask that residents in these affected areas please support the project and cooperate with the workers over the next month as we install the speed humps in their neighbourhood. This way the team can complete the works as efficiently as possible. We thank residents for their patience while these essential projects are under way.
Speed humps will be installed in the following roads during this project:
Parkwood
Maroon Road
Cerise Road
Blou Road
Lotus River
Stephen Road and Stanley Road
Gemsbok Avenue (Third to Fourth Avenue)
Isaac Road
Kevin Road
Cynthia Road
Esther Road
Doreen Road
George Road
Edward Road
Third Avenue (Buck Road - Zeekoe Road)
Pelican Park
Schaapkraal
The City recommends that residents use alternative routes where possible.
Vehicles may be parked in the demarcated area after 18:00 provided that they are removed before 06:30. Parked vehicles that obstruct the construction works will be moved or towed away.
